Q:    How does Crime Stoppers work?

A:    Approximately every three weeks, a local crime is broadcasted over the radio and television, and an article appears in local newspapers.  Callers are given confidential numbers that are the only traces of identification provided to both informants and officers.  No names are required or given.  If the information given leads to an arrest, the informant is given a check from the Crime Stoppers organization.  This check is left at a local bank with only numbers to indicate the recipient.
